My Favorite Things For December

Keep Warm and Cozy with Six More SummersIt came without warning. Well, OK, I had many months worth of warnings. But still, I wasn’t ready for it. I’m talking about the terrible, horrible, no good, very bad season of WINTER.

The only good things about this awful time of the year are: Christmas, and New Year’s, and ALL of our birthdays, and birthdays of many people we love. Also, there’s Valentine’s Day, and President’s Week which =’s Family VACATION! So.. maybe there are a few good things about the Winter ūüėČ

It’s still rough to handle the cold though. And around here, we’re getting¬†ourselves prepared for the long season ahead. Here are the things that are making the colder weather a bit more tolerable, that my teen and I both LOVE! All the titles are links – be sure to check them out!

1. Heathered Leggings!

Heathered Leggings from Francesca's Collection

These comfy, cozy leggings are lined with a warm layer of fleece-like material. They are so warm and snuggly I’ve had a hard time getting my daughter out of them! We picked up this soft textured gray pair, and a flat black pair as well – perfect for layering this winter.

2. Flip Top Gloves!

TOMS Flip Top Gloves

I love love LOVE flip top gloves, and this pair from TOMS For Target are adorable, and super soft. I love the button detail, and the soft yet feminine colors. The entire TOMS for Target line is gorgeous, and includes items for the whole body, and for every single person on your Christmas list!

3. AVEDA Hand Relief

AVEDA Hand Relief

I don’t have enough good words for this product. Around here, our hands¬†literally bleed in the winter time. We get dry, rough, scratchy hands that break open in sores. It’s terrible. And I haven’t found anything that truly helps. But this stuff… it is a miracle for our hands. BONUS – my husband keeps touching my skin and marveling at it’s ‘buttery softness.’ You’ve gotta get some. Don’t worry about the price. It’s worth it. I promise.

4. Uniqlo Coats

Uniqlo Military Jacket

Uniqlo is one of our favorite stops at the mall these days. There is just something about the bright basics and aisles and aisles of fun colors and styles that my teen just loves. She wanted a Uniqlo coat this year, but not necessarily a ‘puffy’ coat, as is the typical Uniqlo standard. We were surprised to find that there were many, many options for coats, not all of which had puffy parts everywhere. Like this one – an adorable Military Style coat, with an awesome faux fur collar to protect from the biting winds!

5. Sherpani

Sherpani Sadie Bag

I love all things Sherpani. I own lots of these gorgeous pieces, including luggage, purses, and gym and laptop bags. The quality is incredible. If you are looking for a quick Christmas gift for that hard-to-shop-for girl on your list, this cross-body Sadie Bag for $44.95 is sure to be a hit. I picked one up for my girl the other day – smiles all around!
Here’s a hint – get on the mailing list. They’ve got out of this world sales!

6. Call It Spring Giovannetti Boots

Call It Spring Giovannetti Boots

I bought these for myself. Absolutely adorable, with a warm liner that creates a boot-sock look, these are my new go-to foot wear. They are perfect for over leggings, but narrow enough to pull a jean over. The little heel is just enough to provide a touch of height, but will still allow you to handle a snowy staircase without fear of falling! I loved Call It Spring back when it was just Spring! And they are still not disappointing me with their super cute styles and reasonable prices. These babies are gonna see a lot of pavement this winter.

So, what’s getting you through this season? Stay warm out there, friends!
