365grateful

I came across this video today, and could absolutely relate to Hailey Bartholomew.  Have you felt unsatisfied or unhappy or unfulfilled?  For me, feeling “un-anything” can be taxing on my spirit and my happiness, and it spreads out slowly to those closest to me – like a virus, when I have the blues, I attempt to infect all those around me.  While this autumn season of quitting things and seeking balance has helped boost my spirits, I could always use an extra dose of gratitude.  And couldn’t we all?

I love what Hailey says about happiness – that it comes from feeling gratitude, and having the time to reflect on the things that bring us joy and inject beauty into our lives.

I am taking on the challenge of finding something each day I can be grateful for.  And I can’t imagine it’s going to be too difficult.  Each day I will be sharing a picture of something I am grateful for, and I’d love for you to join in as well!  You can post what you are thankful for in the comments below, or even upload a photo to my facebook page.

So here is my January 1st photo of gratefulness!

Gord Garwood

Meet my sweet husband, Gord.  This is as candid as photos can come, and he wasn’t expecting me to snap this shot of him.

Gord and I have had 13 consecutive days of hanging out together this holiday season.  We’ve had more laughs than I can count, and had so much fun with each others families, and friends.

My heart overflows with thankfulness and gratitude for this man, who loves me when I am the least lovable.

Happy New Years, everyone!  Let’s have a 2014 full of grateful days together, as we make each and every one count.
